Computer Repair & Networking

The Computer Repair/Network Assistant program introduces high-tech job training to the students at the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps.

Level A or IT Essentials provides an opportunity for students to analyze and upgrade computer hardware necessary to perform at higher speeds in today’s computing world. The course content follows industry guidelines necessary for A+ Certification and entry into employment as a field technician.

Level B or N+ provides instruction on how to setup and maintain network servers and follows established industry guidelines for N+ certification. Instruction is also provided in designing network topologies, troubleshooting problems, and programming routers within the industry guidelines for Cisco CCNA certification.

Students will also have the ability to work toward MCSA/MCSE certifications for managing the Windows 2000 network environment and Windows 2000 server. All of the coursework is designed to help students develop problem solving skills with a background necessary to enter a career field in today’s ever changing computer and technology-related industry.
