Requirements
Before entering the program, students must:
- Complete one of Job Corps' basic Heath Care career technical training program.
- Possess state certification as a nurse assistant.
- Submit letters of recommendation from Job Corps health and wellness personnel.
- Submit letters of recommendation from Job Corps staff and any previous health-related employment.
- Be at least 17½ years old.
- Meet basic academic requirements in math and reading.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Have a positive behavior record with no major incidents in the past 90 days.
- Have a clean criminal record.
- Complete a successful phone, in-person, or videoconference interview.
Credentials
As a Job Corps student, you will have the opportunity to earn credentials in your training area that may lead to greater employment opportunities, higher wages, and promotions.
Students who complete a program in the Healthcare training program can earn nationally recognized credentials from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and a state-issued credential/license.
